4.18.22 Coming to the end of a busy school year, and I’m happy to share some performances from this past year: see my Recordings page to hear the video the world premiere of Kate Soper’s “Missing Scenes” from a Wet Ink Ensemble premieres concert in NYC from this past December. Such a great piece! Some summer activities coming up, with Cortona Sessions happening at Florida State this summer, and the Great Plains Saxophone Workshop in Oklahoma, as well as a few other concerts. Lastly, composer Robert Lemay has written a new solo bass saxophone piece for me, which I hope to premiere in the early fall! More info soon!
8.17.21 I updated the site with a few more recent recordings — check them out on the Media portion of my website. Works by Kate Soper, Georges Aperghis, and Robert Lemay from the past few years. Enjoy!
I also want to shout out my student Jonathan Kierspe who has a great podcast dedicated to telling the stories of saxophonists. Check out the Sax Reel Podcast and my interview with Jonathan!
11.23.20 Not a lot going on as has been the case for most of the music world, but I’ve been staying busy! I was recently an invited guest again at Die Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst with duo partner and h2 colleague Jonathan Nichol. Check out the broadcast of the concert here! Second, I have been on commissioning projects for some exciting new projects by composers I love. Among these, Caleb Burhans’ “What Dreams May Come” and Viet Cuong’s “Sanctuary,” both written for soprano saxophone and piano. Additional commissioning news coming soon. Lastly, I am looking forward to joining Wet Ink Ensemble on a premieres concert in NYC whenever conditions allow.
